Our target audience will be young males and females that can relate to our victim! One clip of our film which will relate to our target audience is males and females 18-25, the normal audience for a slasher would be males but i think a female would be able to relate to the female threat making it scarier. One part of the film which attracts our target audience is the clip when the threat grabs the victim from behind, its scary because the audience know its coming but have no way of stopping it which creates tension.

Final review

This is the final review we gave for our own film. The final mark was pretty much the same as the peer reviews we received but some of the comments we're different, one comment we we're given is about the editing as there are some jumps in the shots. We also had some comments about the fact we had filmed in the day which doesn't fit with the genre of a horror movie. Our mark for ourselves was 45, others ranged from 38 to 51. The marks were quite generous considering the comments.

Question 5 - addressing target audience

We planned our film to fit in with the target audience of males 18-29 by making sure that it fitted in with the conventional things that were in the slasher films that our group watched. We also fit in with the target audience by using characters that are around the same age group as them, this is also one of the things that makes it fit in with the conventions of a slasher film, as well as the female being the victim and the male being the threat.
The props and location used also fit in with the conventions of the genre as the threat has a weapon and is masked and the location is a normal, everyday place.

So the main thing that we have done to address the target audience is stick to the conventional things that go with our genre of film.

We showed our opening to some of the other students in our class in order to get feedback on whether they liked the film or not, as they are around the same age group that our target audience is. The majority of the feedback was positive, with the main criticism being that we needed more shot types and to sort out a few parts that jump. But the feedback also told us that the majority of the students felt that our opening fitted in well with our genre.
