Halloween Film Trailer (ABBY QUESTION TWO)

Question two video-

Halloween helped to inspire us as it follows a lot of slasher movie conventions. It has a threat which is introduced at the begining of the movie and increases throughout. There is also a vunerable victim who as she is babysitting in a house alone becomes easy to get to. Throughout the movie we get examples of editing techniques that we can use in our own film.

During the film one victim is shown wearing a white nighty to show she is pure and innocent, we are going to use this method when our victim is being followed by the threat to show she is innocent.

This is the trailer for Nightmare on elm street. This is the second film we used for inspiration as the threat in the this film is a male that wears a mask, making him scarier because you dont see his true identity. The stereotype is that the threat is male and not female.

Our planning shows our understanding of representation and stereotypes as the actress we chose for our victim was small, with light coloured hair and she wore a white top, this makes her look more vulnerable and innocent. The actor we chose as our threat was male, tall, muscly and wore a mask, this makes him look more threatening and undefeatable.

The clip in our film when Jess (our actress) walks into shot in the alley way shows a stereotype as we dressed in her white and gave her neutral make-up to make her look innocent and defenseless. As white is a colour related with purity, its obvious she is the victim and not the threat as the threat would stereotypically be wearing dark clothes.

I've put some of the points our audience picked up about stereotyping into a wordle.
